“Phildan Memorial School was founded in January 2014 to provide affordable and quality education for under-priviledged and vulnerable children in Kisumo county in Kenya. It began with 45 kids from baby class to standard one. Since then, the number of students has increased to 189 and the class range is from baby class to standard seven. There are 13 teaching staff and two support staff.
Phildan Memorial School now forms part of a register community-based organisation named Phildan Memorial Community Organisation. It has expanded to serving the community in other ways too, including through women empowerment programmes and environmental protection programmes.”
