We are born innocent: full of life and dreams, cooing and babbling.
This is considered an important aspect of our existence and a significant one towards who we will turn out to be.
However, I have come to realise that it is who we will be that is most significant.
Why do I say so? Oftentimes our earlier selves do not fully comprehend their purpose in life. We begin with ABCs and end with Geometry. We start with wanting to become doctors and end up as architects. Mind you, most people who grow up wanting to become doctors are led by their fascination with seeing them on the television in white robes surrounded by the white painted walls rather than actually bearing the life and death responsibilities.
Every single day introduces us to the means that will aid our development. Ten days with ten different experiences and interactions gives us ten different ideas to succeed in ten different things.
Are you following my ideas?
It encapsulates all that we had gone through. What we go through has a way of making life and existence more tangible; therefore, we can relate more to those real experiences.
It also reflects the babbling of innocence tested against trespasses. The problems we will face tells a thing or two about us. They help shape our perceptions. Perception accumulated defines our behaviours. Our perceptions are based on our choices and responses. This creates a synchronised connection between our perceptions and physical being: a required balance needed to feel every single particle in the air.
It reflects what we consider reality. We are novices until shaken by the circumstances of life and this is done when no one is there to pad our fall. Who we will be stronger, have a higher IQ and reasoning and is better at making decisions? Just ask a 5 years old what he wants for dinner and why. We can surely see the difference.
Finally, it shows the real us. As a child, as a fresher, we often want to do so much but towards the end, we want to do something else.
At the outset of our lives, we often have choices. Growing up, we have a choice that feels more concrete than ever.
At the beginning of every journey, we are ready. We are prepared. Sometimes we are energised by the prospect of going to somewhere new or learning something new and sometimes we are not all. This phase is often characterised, if you really look at it, by the confidence and faith we have in ourselves. However, our true self often only reveals itself at the end of everything. Life is a complicated and unfair game. We only know what the term “readiness” and “preparedness” means to us at the end.
It is like you are at the beginning of a tunnel. All you see is darkness or flames that are about to fizzle out. Then you come out of the end after falling into ditches and running your palms around the wall to feel your way out. It is only after you have finished that you can confidently go back in and wave your way around the tunnel in less time than your previous attempt.
The height of life is being at a position where you are likely to expend all your potential which you had accumulated through years of learning and gathering skills. It is in that moment you ask what else are you living for?
Take your time and meditate on that.
The outset of our lives is relevant no doubt. I am not saying that as a child or at the beginning of our lives we are nothing. It does not really do much. But if we keep measuring who we were as a yardstick to who we are now then it is simply unfair to who we are now.
Who we came to be is like marble or block of concrete that a blacksmith has chipped here and there to attain a desired and peculiar shape that will be entirely different from the initial piece. A better version of you which is the most important after all .
This is why we dream.

This is a concise description of the reality

Nice write up, but, that is not right answer for nature, or let me say universe, what we think to be and what we end up to become, is different from what nature want us to be.
And to understand the nature very well, there is no way you won’t need spirit, either the spirit of God or evil, because being human is spiritual, and there is a super natural power, controlling or giving ours directions, and who you worship, gives you more details about your spiritual life. Now going to the question: why we dream.
Every human, right from infant have the instinct of surviving life, This is where our dreams begins, different race and different reasons why we race, but winning the race depends on our focus, ask a 5 years old boy, what do you want to become, he will tell his dream at present moment. But little of them follow their dreams, and many of them Deray from their dream, you know why, because, kids will be having different perspective about life when growing, until when he understand life then he will make his final decision of what to become, but what change our dreams to something we ain’t expecting is nature, take example of someone who is destine to become trader, but he/she has passion for doctor or lawyer, but after going to school to learning more about what he has passion for, he found him self running a super market business. If I may ask question what happened to him. This is where spiritualism comes in, where by you ask what ever you have Faith in about your future, to direct you so you won’t follow wrong path. Let me stop you, I hope you get my point. Dreaming is something every one does, but nature handles every we become.
